{"id":43675,"date":"2020-01-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalbison.org\/bison-ranchers-look-to-expand-customer-connections-at-25th-annual-meeting\/"},"modified":"2025-02-27T07:32:00","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T14:32:00","slug":"bison-ranchers-look-to-expand-customer-connections-at-25th-annual-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalbison.org\/bison-ranchers-look-to-expand-customer-connections-at-25th-annual-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Bison Ranchers Look to Expand Customer Connections at 25th Annual Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>More than 400 Producers to Meet, 100 Head of Live Bison Scheduled for Stock Show<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Westminster, CO (January 14, 2020) \u2013 The 400 ranchers bringing more than 100 head of live bison to Denver next week will also be bringing a commitment to continue building the market for bison meat based upon the quality of the meat and a dedication to sustainable ranching practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ranchers will be gathering at the National Bison Association\u2019s 25<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary conference at the Denver Renaissance Hotel, and at the association\u2019s Gold Trophy Show and Sale at the National Western Stock Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe bison business is expanding its efforts to develop meaningful relationships with our customers based on the great taste, nutritional attributes and environmental benefits of bison meat,\u201d said Dave Carter, executive director of the Westminster, CO-based association. \u201cDuring our conference, we will be focusing heavily on working with the public as partners in bison restoration.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keynote presenters during the association\u2019s 25<sup>th<\/sup> annual conference include Laurie Demeritt, CEO of Hartman Group Consumer Research Firm, and Rob Bleifer, executive chef and vice president of culinary at Food Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLaurie and Rob have valuable insights and expertise that will help us introduce more people to bison, which will help us continue to build our business,\u201d Carter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other sessions during the conference will focus on animal management, herd health, marketing, and cooperative relationships with tribal producers and the Canadian bison business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulation Greg Ibach is scheduled to address the group and discuss bison programs within that agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual conference will kick off at the Renaissance Hotel at 3801 Quebec St.&nbsp; with a luncheon on Wednesday (which the association has renamed as Bison Hump Day). Working sessions will unfold during the following two days, and the conference concludes with its 25<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary banquet on Friday, January 24<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday, January 25<sup>th<\/sup>, activities move to the National Western Stock Show, where the live animal auction will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Livestock Center sale arena.
