The Bison Disease Field Guide is a collaborative effort between the National Bison Association’s Science and Research Committee and the InterTribal Buffalo Council (ITBC). The ITBC originally published this pocket-sized field guide that covers a wide range of diseases that have the ability to impact the American Bison. The NBA Science and Research Committee then updated the book with help from Dr. Murray Woodbury with the University of Saskatchewan who specializes in bison herd health.
